Cambridge International College (CIC) is excited to announce the appointment of Dr George Huang as Associate Dean (Teaching & Learning).
Dr Huang has come to CIC from New Zealand, where he held various roles in higher education including course leadership, lecturing, research and moderation. He filled these roles at Auckland University of Technology, Whitireia Community Polytechnic and Open Polytechnic.
Dr Huang’s academic qualifications include his PhD in Accounting from Victoria University of Wellington, Master in Management from Shenyang Agricultural University, Postgraduate Diploma in Finance from Massey University, and Diploma in Information Systems and Technology from Open Polytechnic. Dr Huang is a chartered accountant (CA) and also a certified practising accountant (CPA), with professional experience as an auditor in the Industrial Bank of China International Trust & Investment Corporation, and as a chief accountant at DB Schenker NZ Ltd in Auckland, New Zealand.
Dr Huang’s extensive experience brings an added dimension to the dynamic academic team at CIC. His responsibilities include the direct management of academic discipline leaders and educational designers. In addition he will manage all units of study, assessment strategies, academic integrity systems, teaching loads, timetabling, and internal term based student surveys.
Part of Dr Huang’s doctoral thesis included a paper on strategies to overcome ethnic discrimination in the accounting industry. This gives Dr Huang further insight into how to approach teaching international students to better their prospects of employment in a global market.
