Melbourne has been ranked by the Economist Intelligence Unit as the world’s most liveable city for the seventh year in a row. But it’s not just good news for Melbourne – Perth has risen in the rankings to seventh, overtaking even Sydney!
The reason behind these rankings? It’s a combination of things – the low levels of crime, the access to affordable and high quality education, healthcare, food, and the cities’ cultures. And don’t let Melbourne’s current freezing winter weather fool you either – both cities were also ranked for how bearable their temperatures are. Transport is another major factor behind the rankings, and Perth actually took out a top ranking for it.
