The Certificate III in Hospitality (Commercial Cookery) (SIT30807) provides trainees with the necessary skills to commence a career in the hospitality industry. Trainees are instructed in a variety of introductory culinary techniques used in various Western and Asian cuisines.
The Diploma of Hospitality Management (SIT50307) is an industry specific qualification suitable for trainees wishing to obtain the managerial skills necessary for employment within the hospitality industry. The course focuses on building communication, leadership, and planning skills relevant to the hospitality industry.
On successful completion of this course, students are eligible to receive Certificate III in Hospitality (Commercial Cookery) and or Diploma of Hospitality Management depending on the mode of study.
Students may be able to shorten the length of their chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training. AQF qualifications and statements of attainment issued by another registered training organisation may be recognised by Cambridge International College.
Assessment include a combination of written and online assignments, tests, examinations and practical application projects.
Graduates of the Certificate III in Hospitality (Commercial Cookery) will have gained the skills and knowledge to work as a cook in the commercial kitchens of restaurants and or cafes. Those who go on to complete the Diploma of Hospitality will have gained the skills and knowledge to work in managerial and administrative roles in the hospitality industry.
The Certificate III of Hospitality (Commercial Cookery) is delivered over five, 9 week terms with a 1 week break between terms.
The Diploma of Hospitality Management is delivered over three, 9 week terms with a 1 week break between terms.
The study mode is full time and consists of 20 hours per week. Trainees have the option to study in a daytime or evening schedule subject to availability.
